Cloud Studio is a cross-platform visual tool designed to make the development of applications for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) more convenient. Developers (or someone responsible for applications deployment) can effortlessly create and destroy instances, manage security groups, keypairs, and allocate and assign IP addresses. Studio also supports Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS).

Key Features of Cloud Studio

Operation on Images:

  • Register
  • Re-register
  • Unregister
  • Control launch permissions
  • Display available instances as a list (Image Browser)
  • Filter images list (view: all, owned by user, favorites)

Operations on Instances:

  • Launch (with possibility to set all required parameters)
  • Display currently available instances (Instance Monitor)
  • Terminate
  • Reboot
  • Copy Instance ID, Public/Privet DNS Name to clipboard
  • Remove terminated instances from the instance list
  • Open embedded secure shell console for selected instance*

Key Management:

  • Create new keypair
  • Delete existing keypair
  • Store private part of the keypair in internal secure keystore*
  • Export private part of the keypair from keystore*
  • Import private part of the keypair to internal secure store*

Security Group Management:

  • Create Security Group
  • Delete Security Group
  • Add CIDR Permission
  • Add Group Permission (per account/group)

Elastic IP Support:

  • Allocate IP Address

  • Associate/Dissociate IP Address with running instance

S3 Browser:

  • Create new bucket
  • Delete bucket
  • Upload files to the bucket
  • Delete files from the bucket
  • Download objects from the bucket to a specified location

Elastic Block Store (EBS):

  • Create Volume (you can specify Volume Size, Availability Zone and if there is a Snapshot to create this volume from)
  • Delete volume or snapshot
  • Attach volume to instance
  • Detach volume from instance (forced detach is also available)
  • Create snapshot of the volume
  • View lists of volumes and snapshots
